Manufacturer bench figures (Happymodel bench, 3500 KV on a Gemfan 4024 2-blade, a Gemfan 4023 3-blade and a Gemfan 3018 2-blade at 4S (14.8 V); 5-9 current steps per prop (1-9.5 A), the sheet's throttle column being a PWM value (1463-2200 us) and not a percentage); real-world thrust varies with ESC, battery sag and prop condition.

EX 1404 vs other 1404 motors on 4S

The same thrust costs different power on different motors. Each line is one maker's own bench series (4S, its own prop), drawn as grams of thrust per watt against thrust, so a higher line makes that thrust for less battery current. Throttle percent is left out on purpose: it means something different on every maker's rig.

Power at 300 g is read off each maker's curve, straight-line between its two nearest bench points; 300 g is the highest thrust every motor here reached. Different props and rigs move these curves as much as the motor does, so compare rows on a similar prop. Peak thrust of every 1404 motor: 1404 motors compared. How to read a bench table: reading motor bench tables.

Thrust-to-weight with this motor

Four Happymodel EX 1404 motors at 338.3 g max thrust each give 1353.2 g: 2:1, the minimum to fly, up to 676.6 g all-up; 4:1 (freestyle) up to 338.3 g; 8:1 (racing) up to 169.15 g.

Where this data comes from

The rows are Happymodel's own bench table, published as an HTML table in the body of its product post on happymodel.cn - the first brand in this dataset whose bench data is markup rather than a photographed sheet, so every figure here is the source's own text. The template is a no-load block (2 V, its current, its speed and the KV that measurement implies) repeated beside a run of Voltage / Current / Thrust / Efficiency / Power rows and the propeller. It steps CURRENT, not throttle, and publishes no per-row RPM, so both those columns are empty here. No spec-block cross-check is possible on this brand: Happymodel's Specifications blocks state no maximum power and no maximum current. Every row reproduces its own printed power as Voltage x Current to within 0.01 W, and its printed efficiency as Thrust / Power. This is the one Happymodel motor post that publishes a throttle column, and it is a **PWM command value in microseconds** (1463-2200), not a percentage, so `throttle` is left empty rather than filled with a number this dataset's other rows would read as percent. On the 3500 KV winding the steps are 1483/1607/1692/1758/1826/1883/1948/2200 us (Gemfan 4024 2-blade), 1463/1576/1655/1721/1787/1840/1907/blank/2200 us (4023 3-blade) and 1594/1759/1886/1980/2200 us (3018 2-blade). Its no-load block is 0.21 A and 7050 RPM at 2 V, i.e. a measured 3525 KV. Identity with Happymodel's own block is the 14 mm x 4 mm stator, 3500 KV, a Ø1.5 mm shaft, 9N12P, Ø17.8x17.6 mm, 8.7 g and "KV3500 compatible with 3-4S Lipo", which is this page's 3-4S. Three source facts recorded rather than repaired: each prop run ends in TWO full-throttle (2200 us) rows whose current differs slightly (8.5 A / 338.3 g then 8.4 A / 335.5 g on the 4024, 9.5 A / 327 g then 9.2 A / 315 g on the 4023), so the published maximum is the first of each pair; the 4023 run's 8 A row prints no throttle at all; and the post's third winding is headed EX1404-4850KV in the table against KV4800 in the title and the Specifications block. The 2750 and 4850 KV windings are not on this page - this catalogue publishes only the 3500 KV listing.
